Up 104A. This truck was crawling and decelerating all the way up the hill, then couldn't quite get over the hump.
Not especially exciting, I guess, but the combo of colors and textures struck me as I drove past.
I liked the contrast of a Century Award house, Coke van and fiber optics on the pole.
Another Century Award house across the street and up a little from the Intersection.
One of the farms along Fletcher Rd, a couple miles east of the Intersection.
A couple miles north of the Intersection, on a dirt road off the east side of 104.
I forget the name of this farm that I pass every day. It's on the other side of 104 across from Webb Rd.
Needed to stop off for gas at the Steeple Market before hitting the Intersection.
The blinking light reflected in the Vermont Food Venture Center's window.
Must be 2.81 for regular, since mid is 2.91 and high-test is 3.01.
One of myriad garage/lawn sales in Fairfax and pretty much all over.
Lots of people fish along the Lamoille, which is just over the hill.
"I love my country, but fear my government."
"Ignore your rights and they'll go away."
Reader muddy used to live in the 2nd house on the left on School Street.
I had to pick up some stuff in Fairfax, including at the Steeple.
As I was pulling out of the Steeple Market lot, I figured I might as well shoot this. Hope the State Trooper didn't think I'm casing the joint.
Thought this looked cool as I was getting into my car on Maple Street.
One of the many Century Award (I forget when it was built, sometime mid 19th-century) houses in Fairfax, just across from where I stop my car for the Intersection.
Looking back up Rte 104, just down the hill from my Intersection spot.
Just across the street from where I shot today's Intersection. Wow, built the same year as the Battle of New Orleans, so far, far away...
I think I've said it before: I like this house because it's a slice of Rockwell's Americana.
Go over the covered bridge and you'll find yourself at Bellows Free Academy.
Homemade and other signs like this are cropping up all around 104. Apparently people are driving too fast (though some of the appeals on the signs need a [/sarcasm] tag).
Behind my usual Intersection spot. Spoke to this dude who said he catches 24" brown trout in Mill Brook this time of year.
Looks like they've done some repair work. See:

The mountain as seen from a farm at the top of Rt 128 in Westford. If you go down the hill (to the left from the POV of this scene), in a couple miles you'll hit the Intersection.
I often loop down this street, which is just above the Intersection, when I go shoot. Today I was struck by the juxtaposition of the old barn and the newer houses, plus the clouds versus the snow.
Looks like all the freezing and thawing caused some damage this year--hope the people who live above those rocks doesn't lose their backyard.
The back of the store from Maple Street (just down the road from the school).
Shot from the hip as I was crossing the street after lunch at Foothills.
Stef's car is dirty. Welcome to winter in Vermont.
Oh, and Cairo's bored.
Just a different POV of 104N from the other side of 104.
The Steeple Market is on the left, and on the right you can just barely see the belfry of the Intersection church peeking out. Foothills is kinda in the middle.
The house from where I shot today.
I also took a picture of this for the Autumn in Vermont album:
http://dohiyimir.typepad.com/photos/autumn/americanae.html
The brook seen through the slats of the bridge--across the road from my Intersection spot.
My usual "behind me" shot. Looks like a lot of activity at the Verizon Central Office. And is that a town plow I see cresting the hill? Hard to tell with all the snow falling...
If you take a right immediately after the Venture Center (bldg on the right of the Intersection), you'll see this bridge on the way to Bellows Free Academy.
A little bit different view of the snirt I was standing on to shoot the Intersection.
Above the Vermont Food Venture Center. I believe the two stars are Deneb Kaitos (lower left corner) and Skat (just below and to the left of the moon's bright cloud "halo").
The belfry on top of the Baptist church just beyond the Foothills Bakery (actually, the apartment upstairs).
Just down the road from the Intersection. The building just above/behind the Jeep on the right of the scene is the Foothills Bakery.
Stairs leading up to the apartment above Foothills Bakery, and the driveway's exit sign.
Mill Brook is still very high and fast after all the rain we've had. This is shot from the other side of the bridge from my usual spot.
The Fairfax United Church, whose steeple you can see on the left of the Intersection scene.
A nice day to grab a bite and sit out on the porch at Foothills Bakery.
Hey, it's Friday the 13th! This doesn't look too creepy, just a little blurry...
The house next to where I shoot the Intersection is right above Mill Brook, which is a bit swollen from today's rain.
The view of 104N from Foothills Bakery. You can just barely see the Citgo sign and steeple of the Steeple Market, a church converted into a small grocery and gas station.
The Vermont Food Venture Center, across the street from Foothills Bakery.
Telephone worker sign. I have no clue what "Ju Ju" means. Are they magic telephone workers?
The signs on the Foothills Bakery awning. A member of the Vermont Fresh Network!
Just before I got set up, a couple (highschool?) boys put up this sign on the bridge. They were plastering Fairfax with these puppies. I should give blood--I've donated 5 gallons, but it's been over 18 months since my last pint.
Hey, if this is your plate, I know where it is: right at the spot where I put my tripod for the Intersection shot.
Just turned my camera right around from where I normally shoot the Intersection.
This is the continuation of the main road, seen on the right of the usual Intersection shot. Later in the project, I'll shoot further down the road so you can see the Steeple Market (an old church, now a grocery store), etc.
As you can tell, I'm on the other side of the flashing traffic light--flashes red on the right, instead of our familar yellow. I shoot from just about where the red van's windshield is (not in the road, of course!). It's a simple concrete bridge going over a little stream.
