More Bonus Photoblogging

Sorry for the Instahack-esque posts.  I'm out of gas, so here are a couple more pics I shot tonight:

Shot from inside (different window from the other day) with illumination from our porch light.

I put a pan down for Cairo to lick--she tends to move them around as she "helps" clean--and a little later Saffy had placed herself in it.  It is her corner of the kitchen, afterall.

I can't help remembering that Kliban cartoon, drawn decades ago, of the man wearing a chef's hat, holding his cat in a frying pan, and singing, "My cat is fat / so now I'll dine / and eat all up / this cat of mine."

Saffron has such dignity in her expression. Sam has a few years ahead of him before he can look that dignified.

"Perhaps you were expecting a 'fricatsee'?"

Steve - right now I find it hard to imagine Sam will ever have such dignity.

tige - that's pretty damn good. But I was actually expecting brownies.

I liked the one with the Cat in a Chef hat with a frying pan flipping mice into the air, singing, "love to eat them mousies,
little mousies what I like to eat
bite they little heads off,
Nibble on their tiny feet!"

Saff see a container of sorts and naturally has to sit in it. Just because she can.

I thot it was "nibble on they tiny feet"?

Posted by: NTodd | Feb 25, 2005 1:06:17 AM

did you want "CATsup" with that burger?

Posted by: jillian | Feb 25, 2005 10:59:35 AM

It was, at least in the one I remember, which shows the cat holding a guitar as it sings.

Adds new meaning to the phrase 'panhandling for food'.

OK, maybe that's why no one comes to your house for dinner.

Could be worse, Q-in-a-B: If I put a pan down in this vegetarian household, no self-respecting cat or dog would lick it!

Posted by: Steve Bates | Feb 25, 2005 2:18:22 PM

Oy, people are serving up some pretty bad ones on this thread. :-)

Ha! You can dish it out, but can you take it? /said she with a deadpan look.

Okay, let's put a lid on it, shall we?

Posted by: NTodd | Feb 25, 2005 6:10:43 PM

Someone's gonna fry for this.

Ok, I'll just put the puns on a backburner, but they may get too hot to handle even there.

Posted by: ellroon | Feb 25, 2005 9:08:41 PM

making catjacks? (sort of like flapjacks, but with cat, instead)

Posted by: oldwhitelady | Feb 26, 2005 2:12:15 PM

Think it would be more like pancats.

You also could offer furbuns with butter, hairballs over noodles, feline fricasse ... it's all good with a dash of saffron dusted on the top.
