Bonus Photoblogging
I don't feel like doing any meaty blogging tonight--the whole USA Next ad bullshit has pissed me off too much. So here are a couple pics instead:

Some icicles at the front of the house.

Sam is stunned that I'm letting him inside.
G'night.

Do those icicles really fall and "take you eye out"? Do you have to break them off the house every morning? Gawl, they look frightening!

Dude, that icicle picture is stunning!

ohhhh...the icicle pix is very Halloweenishly scary...I like it!

Awww! Sam is so sweet. Those are some long icicles. We haven't had snow in Mo for a bit. I hope we have no more snow this winter. I'm ready for SPRING!

Sam, sam I am!!
Ahem.
Those icicles look like big scary fingers coming to drag you down under the earth.
Just saying.

Darryl - they're only dangerous if you're not careful with your Red Ryder BB gun.
Musing - thanks! I was out in the front yard with the dog and was struck by the image.
Kath - boo!
owl - I'm not ready for spring yet. The snow has been disappointing.
flg - I'm glad I didn't read your comment before I went to sleep. My dreams are already weird enough.

N:
What about some black and white pix? We are so living in a black and white world these days, mostly black. Particularly at night. Fight the fight that must be won. Laugh and be counted (tm). Feeling better, I presume.

Sam: "Oh, NOW you decide to let me in? Wait until I'm halfway through my cleaning routine? Now I'm going to have to start all over again, dammit!"

Heretik - feeling better. More B&Ws coming up.
tige - funny thing is, I had the door open for several minutes (letting freaking cold air in), and he decided it was a good time for a bath. The little brat. At least I got a shot.

the look on the cat's face is priceless! 'what do ya mean, come in??' 'He's playin' with my head, damnit, and I'm not gonna fall for it.' 'Hmph.'

Way cool, NTodd!
Cats are convinced of their right to an open door, and to sit on the threshold if they want. They don't necessarily want to come in, or go out; they just want to know the door is open. Cold? what does Sam care? he's got a fur coat!

Sam looks very kittenish when he pulls that "who, me?" expression.
Wow to the icicles. How cold is it?

NTodd, I've been meaning to ask you... is B&W intrinsic to your camera, or do you remove saturation in an editor?
Glad to hear you're feeling better.

The sensor is full color, but I pre-visualize the pics as either B&W or color. If it's B&W, then I desaturate in Photoshop.
