Rewarding Incompetence
![]()
Say hello to the next US Secretary of State! Already promoted beyond her level of competence, I take comfort in the fact that Condi probably can't fuck up national security any more than she already did as National Security Advisor. I'm sure the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will be resolved under her bold leadership at State. And clearly those North Koreans will buckle under her intense will to power.
God help us all.

Did I miss something? Has she been announced as the nominee? I thought Danforth was still in the running.

If she gets through confirmation without a major fight and exposé of her incompetence, the Democratic Senators need to consider suicide. She didn't have a hearing for her current position, so now is the time to make her lack of experience and capability obvious.

Look on the bright-ish side. First, she's inept, as is the regime she works for. Second, at least she has the Shrubbery's confidence, so we will no longer find ourselves in the embarrassing position of having our secretary of state say or do one thing, even as the rest of the Shrubbery says or does the exact opposite. The policies may be batshit insane, but at least they'll be consistently batshit insane.

Failing upwards.
It's the bush family way.
As we used to say in New York. "They don't know no better!"

She gets to be closer to her husba...Commander in Chief. *sniff* it's so romantic.

Well, Powell didn't have much influence in this high profile job. I doubt Rice will fair any better. All the power in the White House is in Rove and Cheney's offices. So unless she plans on replacing one of them, I suspect she'll be no more effective or influencial than she has been in the past.

No one can say "I believe the title was: 'Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the U.S.' with quite the devil-may-care elan as the double-plus ungood Dr. Rice.
I'm sure our allies will be loving it.

Between Condyloma Rice as SoS and "Fuck the Geneva Conventions" Gonzalez, we'll be winning hearts and minds all over the globe. [/sarcasm]

Isn't that just the face you want representing you to the rest of the world?
I have to agree with Wanda, there is no more power in this position. It's all been usurped by Shrubbie's inner circle. A mere figurehead.

I'm inclined to quote my namesake Thea von Harbou at this juncture, for Powell could perhaps say of Condi:
"Parody is your name! And Bungler is mine!"

I'm sure most European leaders will be asking themselves: "Why am I wasting time talking to this person when I could just call Dick Cheney direct?"

She's going to be the same as Gonzales - a hood ornament.
As I noted, they're in the house.

Begs the question, now: who will replace Condi as National Security Adviser?
Posted by: TheaLogie | Nov 16, 2004 3:47:09 PM
Thealogie- Hadley of course.
He of the forgot to take out the 16 words fame. Doncha feel safe now?
What a bunch of wankers.

Fourlegs, on behalf of wankers the world over, I have to say I wish you'd stop insulting us by lumping in people like Condi. From the looks of her, I doubt the woman has ever wanked in her life, though again from the looks of her, she could probably stand to start very soon.

?? I thought she was wanking Dubya? Or is it possible to wank such a moronic wanker? It can't be called wanking when a husb...I mean the president is involved...can it?
