Atriotisms Wiki

Hey, I'm experimenting with Schtuff.com, a free Wiki hosting service.  This blog will keep running, but I will also be playing with different architectures to tie the 2 sites together to make things more collaborative.

More to come...

PS--If anybody's interested in becoming a contributor/editor on the blog and/or the wiki, lemme know.

You ask for a contibutor/editor position at this link, but then leave another page for posts. I'm not sure the dif between a contributor and someone who posts.

Furthermore, I'm confused about what an editor would do, as I assume you have final edit. Would an editor weed out trolls and spam? Rewrite ill-phrased but worthwhile posts? Fact check? Write poems in praise of NTodd?

So please send me a form letter of some sort noting you'd be interested if Hecate, Athenae, Tena and chica toxica all happen to get sick at the same time

Oh, I don't mean an official Editor, like at magazines or anything. It's just that on a Wiki, anybody can edit (i.e., change) content, which is what makes it collaborative. On a blog, and owner can let other people have the keys, as it were, to post (like when Atrios gets guest posters when he's in Yurp). Anybody can comment, but only special people can create/modify posts.

And since this is about a community language, it must involve the community, so I can't be the sole arbiter of what gets published. Dig?

Speaking as a proud member of the original and all-powerful Team Athenae, I'd like to see a lengthy entry from Our Fearless Leader on the etymology of "Fluffit."

Most of ya'll don't know me, because I don't blog or comment as much as I used to, but I've been on Kos since 03 and Atrios about the same. I guess I represent "the silent Eschatonians." We don't differ from the loud-as-hell Eschatonians, we just find our views adequately reflected in the first 100 or so posts of each thread. Except we'd like to see more "Mars, Bitches!" and Woot posts. Or at least I would.

He vanished for a bit, but, god, what a great post. I'm so glad he didn't stay away.

don't give up. omaha is finally getting one after a grassroots petitioning like this. I, too, miss TJs from CA after locating here recently. I made a drive all the way to StLouis one time just to load up for a few months. Ready to go back but it'd be better closer.
